PRINT MANAGER
Reports. They take up a lot of your time, paper and
storage space. But now, there's a more efficient way to print and store
your reports: Print Manager, the print management tool for OPEN SYSTEMS
® Accounting Software (OSAS). Print Manager lets you save your
reports to a file and print them later, giving you a complete report
library. It's also easy to keep track of who is using the system. You'll
know where users are currently working as well as the last menu option
they used, especially valuable during posting and backup procedures. Both
of these capabilities are very helpful in environments where many users are
performing a variety of operations.
Efficiently manage your printed reports for all modules of OSAS
Print Manager intercepts your reports when you print them to a file,
maintains a directory of all active reports on file, and archives them for
permanent storage. The system will track every occurance of a report being
printed, archived, or deleted when executed from the queue. With Print
Manager, you can rely on the same high level of security that's found in
OSAS. All Open Systems access codes that were assigned to the report are
fully incorporated. You'll have complete confidence through password
security; a user cannot print, archive, edit or delete a print job without
authorization.
You'll have the ability to search reports for specific pieces of text such
as key words, phrases, customer names, part number, and vendors. You can
then print any pagesand only those pagescontaining that text. Once the
text is found, you have the option to print the page; continue the search;
or if searching by batch, print all occurrences of that text automatically.
You save time and paper by printing only the information you need.

OSAS Print Manager Offers Choices and Flexibility With These Key
Features:
- You'll be able to view the size of the file (in bytes) when displaying
by file name, giving you a good indication as to the size of the report.
- Save time by printing many reports to the library; then select them all
to print after hours.
- Archive key period end reports for later reference; don't file that
paper. If you need an Aged Trial Balance for last month, call it up from
the archives and reprint it.
- Need some reports in duplicate? Print them to the queue using the
two-part forms class. Then, when the right paper is loaded, select them as
a batch and print them together.
- You can verify that a report was actually run and by whom. Historical
transactions show date, time, and user for all reports generated.
- You can customize the name of the print job by editing it from the Print
Manager Control screen. Or, you can use the default name (the name selected
from an OSAS application menu).
- Not sure if your print job has the required paper or form set up for the
printer you want to use? You can verify by using the Forms Class Maintenance
function.
- You'll have the ability to display a detailed history of transactions
for all print jobs.
- Use the Purge Transaction History function to delete transactions based
on transaction date and transaction type.
